This page explains what happens to personal data you give us through handoffleads.com. It covers this website only — the form where you ask to join the network, and the analytics we use to see how the site is used.
Who we are
HandOff B.V. is responsible for the data described here. You can reach us at info@handoffleads.com.
What we collect, and why
When you fill in the join form, we ask for four things:
- Your name
- so we know who we are writing to.
- Your work email
- so we can reply. This is the only way we contact you.
- Your store name
- so we know which business you represent.
- Your store website
- so we can look at your shop before we talk.
We also store the page you submitted from (English or Dutch), your browser's user-agent string, and a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash lets us spot automated abuse of the form. We do not store the IP address itself, and the hash cannot be turned back into one.
The form contains one hidden field that you will never see or type into. Only automated bots fill it in. If it is filled, we discard the submission and store nothing.
Why we are allowed to do this
You asked us to contact you about joining the network, so we use your details to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Keeping the form free of spam is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
Who else sees it
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. Two services process it on our behalf:
- Telegram — When you submit the form, we send ourselves a message so we notice it quickly. That message contains your name, email, store name and store website.
- Google Cloud (europe-west4, Netherlands) — Our database and servers. Your data stays in the EU.
Analytics
We use Mixpanel to count page views and see which parts of the site people use. Mixpanel stores an identifier in your browser's local storage so repeat visits are recognised as the same visitor. This identifier is not linked to your name or email unless you submit the join form. Our Mixpanel project is set to EU data residency, so this data is processed in the EU.
If you would rather not be counted, block api-eu.mixpanel.com in your browser or use a content blocker; the site works normally without it. You can also clear your browser's local storage for this site at any time.
Fonts and third parties
We host our fonts ourselves instead of loading them from Google Fonts, so visiting this site does not send your IP address to Google. Apart from the services named above, this site loads nothing from third parties.
How long we keep it
If we do not end up working together, we delete your join request 24 months after our last contact. If you become a partner retailer, your details move into our normal business records and follow the retention rules that apply to those — for financial records, seven years under Dutch law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you
- correct it if it is wrong
- delete it
- stop using it
- send it to you in a portable format
Email info@handoffleads.com and we will handle it within one month. There is no charge. If you are not happy with how we respond, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be emailed to retailers we work with.
